Thank you for trusting Charleston Dental Studio for your esthetic treatment. To ensure optimal results and reduce the risk of complications, please follow the instructions below after your Botox or lip filler appointment:
General Guidelines (Applies to All Injections)
- Do not touch, press, rub, or massage the treated areas for the rest of the day. This prevents product migration.
- Stay upright for at least 4 hours following your treatment.
- Avoid exercise, saunas, hot tubs, or excessive heat for 24 hours.
- Do not drink alcohol or take blood-thinning medications (like aspirin, ibuprofen, or fish oil) for 24 hours post-treatment unless prescribed.
After Botox Treatment
- Mild redness, swelling, or bruising is common and should resolve in a few days.
- You may notice results within 3–10 days, with full effect at 2 weeks.
- Avoid facials, chemical peels, or microdermabrasion for 7 days in the treated areas.
- If you experience uneven results at 2 weeks, contact our office for a complimentary follow-up.
After Lip Filler Treatment
- Swelling and bruising are expected and typically peak at 24–48 hours, then improve over the next 5–7 days.
- Avoid using straws, puckering, or exaggerated lip movement for the first 24 hours.
- Apply cold compresses gently for 10 minutes every hour as needed (do not apply direct ice to the skin).
- Stay hydrated and avoid salty foods to minimize swelling.
- Avoid lipsticks, glosses, or makeup on the lips for 24 hours.
- Lumps or unevenness may be present initially but often resolve as swelling subsides.
If you have a history of cold sores, let us know. You may need antiviral medication to prevent reactivation.
